National Assembly Library Material Preservation Center

National Assembly Library Material Preservation Center is planned for the purpose of securing a preservation space for national literature, the necessity of a distributed collection, and the permanent preservation of national records of historical value. When planning the space program, the teaching methods of the Seowon, such as confucian space, lecture space, and memorial space, were reconstructed horizontally and vertically. With a total of three floors above the ground, the first floor consists of a space that can be accessed freely, the second floor consists of a specialized book reading space, and the third floor is a work/management space, and the main rooms, a general reading room and a dense library, are arranged in the center and planned as square mass. The exterior plan applied a horizontal pattern design depicting the turned-on and curved appearance of the book and reflected the identity through securing the symbolism of the National Assembly.
